Soundings is always interested in those who would like to sing with this enthusiastic and committed group. If you are a confident singer and feel that the Soundings repertoire is a fit for you, please contact the director for an audition.
In order to audition you should have good intonation, the ability to learn and memorize parts quickly, and a strong commitment to attending rehearsals. These are held in a venue in Fairfield on Sunday mornings, 9:30 – noon, from September to early December and from February to May. There are two concert series per year, generally in early December and late May. The fees are $350 per year, payable in two payments of $175 for each of the two sessions. (Some flexibility may be available depending on the applicant’s financial circumstances.)
In the audition you will be asked to discuss your own musical background and experience. You will also be asked to do some basic vocalization, do some sight-reading, and present a song of your choice (unaccompanied, as there is no accompanist).
